Why I'm picking Google in the battle of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 vs. Pixel 6 Pro

One can never be satisfied with the smartphone experience if they have too many. It might be that my eyes aren't happy with the screen size, or that my hands are tired and I need something portable and light. No matter the situation, I am always looking for the "next greatest thing" regardless of the circumstances. It's not an easy task, as the phone I really want isn't yet available. That's because it's a flagship-level Pixel with all the bells and whistles. Google's display of the Pixel 6 Pro before its launch in fall may have just been the right decision. The 6 Pro's sleek, beautiful design and improved camera system could make it the perfect non-folding phone. VPN Deals: Monthly plans starting at $1 and a lifetime license for $16 respectively. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now officially available. This is the most exciting upgrade to folding phones since last year's Z Fold 2. Although the design of the new version doesn't change much, it is a subtler upgrade to the original Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 2. While many of my concerns have been addressed, including the addition of S Pen support, and an IP rating, the Pixel 6 Pro remains in the shadows. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is compellingSource: Daniel Bader / Android CentralThe Galaxy Z Fold 3's new under-display camera sensor is one of its most distinctive features. It can be found on the main 7.6 inch screen. The display turns on and it disappears, creating a seamless experience across the entire screen. The truth is that I don't use the inner-display camera for selfies. This under-display model will hopefully help blend everything better. The S Pen support is a must-have feature for someone like me, who is addicted to taking notes and using to-do apps. This is made possible by the Samsung display, which is said to be 80% stronger, making it a no-brainer. There's more. Samsung introduced an S Pen specifically designed for the Z Fold 3 and the S Pen Pro, which adds more functions and features that Galaxy Note owners have loved.Source: Daniel Bader / Android CentralAlthough I don't care as much about the new processor, it is something that I am concerned with. The same Snapdragon 888 is found in many top Android phones this year. This was obvious before leaks about Z Fold 3 began. The Cover Screen has a 120Hz refresh rate now, which is something the Fold 2 should have had. However, I still have a question about whether or not the Fold 3 should be my first choice. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is my biggest complaint. Many people believe that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has the best camera. I've hoped, up until recently, that at least the primary sensor would make its way into the Z Fold 3. This is exactly what Samsung did with its Galaxy Note series. That, coupled with the high price, led me to believe that Samsung would do it with the Fold. However, things aren’t looking so good.It is disappointing to bring back the same camera system as the Z Fold 2Samsung instead brought over the 12MP camera array of the Z Fold 2 and put it in the Z Fold 3. This is a disappointing phone and not something I would expect from a mid-range, or even near-flagship, phone. However, it does come in at $1800. Although the price drop is nice, it's obvious that Samsung doesn't believe Galaxy Z Fold owners require the best cameras it offers.Source: Daniel Bader / Android CentralWhile cutting-edge technology is great, I still want the full package. I don't want a phone that is only about 85% complete with some parts from the past. I don't even ask for the Galaxy S21 entire camera system to be transferred. Only the main lens. For years, we've lived with phones that re-use the same useless secondary and/or tertiary macro sensors or depth sensors. Although I have since moved on from my frustration with this, I still wish Samsung had given me a chance to let me know. I am 100% certain that the Galaxy Z Fold 3's picture and video quality will be excellent. I don't want to be just fine. I want great. This is where the Pixel 6 Pro steps in. Deciding between the Galaxy Z Fold 3, vs. Pixel 6, ProSource: Android CentralRecently, I wrote about rooting in its glory days and shared my excitement from the Nexus 4. You see, I have always loved stock Android and I used to avoid Samsung's OneUI until recently. The excitement of the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 has me shaking my booty. Although we've seen leaked renders and rumors, I was skeptical. I didn't want Google putting my hopes up to only to make them fall. The surprise announcement last week made me give in, and the Pixel 6 Pro couldn't arrive fast enough. Last year was disappointingSource: Hayato Huseman / Android CentralThe Pixel 5 last year was a great phone, according to many. It's still sitting on my desk. I say this begrudgingly because the Pixel 5 arrived in a different form than I wanted. Google could have redesigned the Pixel 4 (give it the Oh So Orange colorway) but I loved it. It did. However, it wasn't the way we expected. Google decided to "play it safe" in 2020, releasing three phones from the Pixel 4a series: Pixel 4a 5G (Pixel 5), Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 4a 5GXL. The Pixel Neural Core was removed, which meant that image processing was slow, especially when trying capture night-time constellations.Source: Nick Sutrich / Android CentralGoogle does an excellent job of software optimization and processing power was fine. I didn't find the inclusion of the Snapdragon 768G mid-range processor to be a problem. The Sage Green color is my third favorite, after the Oh So Orange of the Pixel 4. The Panda Pixel 2 XL is still my favorite ever. After seeing the launch of the three 2020 Pixel devices, it was obvious that Google was confused. The Pixel 4a 5G was launched after the Pixel 5. This didn't make sense to me. It's time to forget about the past and focus on the future. Because the future is bright. I want 'The Google Phone.Source: Android Central
