Raiders Reportedly Launch Internal Investigation After Departures of 4 Executives

Perez, Front Office Sports.Since June, team president Marc Badain and CFO Ed Villanueva, controller Araxie grant, and vice president for strategy and business development Brandon Doll, have all left.Jason Cole, a writer for the NFL, reported last week that Raiders had hired an outside firm to investigate the departures.Peter King, of Pro Football Talk, broke down Badain's departure earlier in August. He noted that no one knew why but called it a "big deal for the Raiders".There were many theories as to why he quit. Some suggested that he did not approve of Mark Davis' spending during a terrible first season in Las Vegas. Others suggested that he was tired of the constant pace of running a franchise. Davis was also rumored to have significant disagreements with him about the direction of the franchise, at a time of tight money.He said that the Badains' departure could have contributed to the Raiders losing at least $100M in 2020 revenue from a season without fans.Badain said to ESPN's Mark Gutierrez that he is forever grateful to Marc Davis, Raiders owner, for his "unwavering support" and friendship after he left the team in July.He said, "The successful construction of and operation of Allegiant Stadium was undoubtedly the most challenging aspect of my 30 year tenure with the organization." "Seeing it through to its completion has been a rewarding experience beyond measure. The Raiders and Las Vegas achieved what seemed impossible together.Dan Ventrelle is the executive vice president of the team and general counsel. He currently serves as the team president.It is hard to believe that four of the most prominent executives would leave in such a short time. The Raiders are apparently trying to figure out the cause.
