Matt Duffy, third baseman, broke the string with a single to right field on a fastball.Burnes, 26, shares this record with Aaron Nola of the Philadelphia Phillies, who won the feat in June against the New York Mets. Tom Seaver of the Hall of Fame, who made the feat against San Diego Padres back in 1970, also holds the record.Burnes fanned the side in the second, third and fourth innings to set a Brewers team record of nine consecutive strikeouts.
