NASA Says an Asteroid Will Have a Close Brush With Earth. But Not Until the 2100s.

A small asteroid about the same size as the Empire State Building may have a slight chance to hit Earth.Dont worry. Before that happens, you'll be long dead. Your children will, too. Most likely, all your grandchildren.NASA scientists stated Wednesday that there was a 1 in 1,750 chance that Bennu (an asteroid slightly larger than the Empire State Building) could collide with Earth between now 2300.This is slightly more than the earlier estimate of 1 out 2,700 for a shorter time period between now and 2200.It is not a significant shift, according to Davide Farnocchia (a scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California) and the lead author of the paper published in Icarus. Bennu is not a concern of mine anymore than before. The likelihood of Bennu's impact is still very low.
