Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Mike Richards will be hosting Jeopardy alongside Mayim Bialik. When the show returns later in the year for its 38th series, Richards will host the regular version and Bialik will host the primetime and spinoff shows, including the new Jeopardy! National College Championship."Richards was a former host of Beauty and the Geek and the 2012 relaunch of The $100,000 Pyramid. He has also served as executive producer for Jeopardy! Since 2020, Richards has been hosting the show as well as serving as an executive producer of Jeopardy! Bialik is most well-known for her roles in Blossom and The Big Bang Theory. She also holds a PhD from UCLA in neuroscience.Bialik and Richards will replace Alex Trebek who died in late 2020 after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. His last episodes aired January 2021. The show had a long list guest hosts who filled in for Trebek on the podium throughout the 37th season. These included Richards and Bialik, as well as former Jeopardy! Champion Ken Jennings and Anderson Cooper newscasters Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper and LeVar Burton are also present.AdvertisementRichards sent an email to Jeopardy! He claimed that he didn't have the final say on who would host the show.Richards wrote, "I am sure I have already mentioned it to you all before but the decision on this isn't my decision and has never been." Sony's number one priority was to carry on the amazing legacy Alex and Alex left. Alex believed that the game and its contestants were the most important elements of the show. That belief will remain the guiding principle until the final decision is made.The memo also included allegations that Richards discriminated against pregnant employees while he was executive producer of The Price Is Right. Both suits were ultimately settled.Richards stated that these were allegations in employment disputes against The Price is Right.
