Poly Network hacker:Red-HandedA cryptocurrency brokerage called The Poly Network disclosed Tuesday that it was hacked by someone who took more than $600 million in the form hundreds of cryptocurrencies.According to The Verge, the hacker is now working on returning the stolen crypto. The Poly Network appears to have reached out to the hacker with a strong-worded tweet warning them that they would be pursued and inviting them to find a solution for their tens or thousands of victims.Givesies BacksiesCNBC reports that the hacker had returned approximately $258 million worth of crypto stolen by them on Wednesday morning.This shows that even though you can steal cryptoassets it is very difficult to launder them or cash out due to blockchain analytics. They embedded a message in one transaction which simply stated, "Dump shitcoins before."Speak OutRobinson later on Wednesday morning tweeted a Q&A-style Q&A post from the hacker, which answered the question everyone was asking: Why steal $600,000,000? Ok, so maybe the real answer to your question is obvious.
