Global Covid cases on track to add 100 million by early next year without help to poorer nations, WHO says

They are urging world leaders to stop the spread of the disease by providing more vaccines, treatment, and testing supplies to the poorer countries.This projection was made just one week after 200 million Covid cases were reported by the WHO and six months after 100 million cases have been recorded around the world, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated at a briefing on Wednesday. Tedros stated that the WHO has four types of concern, including the highly transmissible delta variant. He said that the actual number of Covid cases is "much higher than what's being reported."Tedros stated that "Whether or not we reach 300,000,000 and how quickly we do it depends on us all."
