Coach John Harbaugh announced Wednesday that Rashod Bateman, the Baltimore Ravens' first-round pick, will be out for "a few weeks" due to a soft tissue injury to his leg.Harbaugh stated, "I don’t know how many [weeks] it will take." "It won't be months, but it'll be weeks. We'll see where that takes us."Bateman was the No. Bateman, the No. 27 draft pick this year, had been suffering from core and abdominal injuries all through training camp. Bateman suffered a cut on Tuesday while running a route to cornerback Marcus Peters. He fell to the ground with no contact. He said he was "still hopeful", but added that he wouldn't give any specific injury timelines as it is too close to the regular-season.Bateman shared his Instagram stories, "This is hard because it was the first injury in me career, but God has a plan," Bateman wrote. "The future looks bright and this is just a bump in the road. I have my eyes set on helping this team. Please return soon."Bateman was expected to be one of Lamar Jackson's top three wide receivers for this season. He was also solid in camp when he was healthy. Before Tuesday's accident, he had missed three practice sessions.This is the fourth injury suffered by a Baltimore wide receiver in three weeks of training camp. As wideouts, Bateman is joining Miles Boykin (hamstring), Marquise Brown (hamstring) or Deon Cain(undisclosed). Brown, who hasn’t practiced since July 29, is running to the side and appears to be close to returning.The Ravens have three healthy wide receivers left, Sammy Watkins and Devin Duvernay.Bateman's injury will likely limit his practice time with Jackson going into the regular season. Jackson missed the first 10 days camp due to COVID-19 testing, so Bateman has only had one practice this summer.
