Apple Begins Selling Refurbished 8th-Generation iPad Starting at $279

Apple's online store in the United States began selling 8th-generation iPad models this week for the first time since its release last year. The refurbished models have a 15% discount compared to the brand-new models. Prices start at $279 for the 32GB model, and $329 for the newer model.Apple claims that certified refurbished iPad models have been thoroughly tested and cleaned. The box also includes a Lightning cable and power adapter as well as manuals. The refurbished iPad comes with a new battery, a new outer shell and is virtually undistinguishable from an original iPad.The 8th generation iPad was introduced in September 2020. It features a 10.2-inch Retina screen and an A12 Bionic chip with Neural Engine.Apple's standard 1-year warranty covers iPads that have been refurbished. AppleCare+ for iPad plans are available for an additional $69, or $3.49 per monthly for 24 months in the United States.Apple has also begun selling the refurbished 2020 iPad Pro models. Although certified refurbished iPads offer a good opportunity to save, there are better deals available through resellers such as Amazon and Best Buy.
