Knuckles the Echidna will make his live-action debut next year in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Now we know who will be playing him: none other then IdrisElba (Cats, and other movies). Elba appears to have not yet been completely scared away from showing up in hybrid live-action / animated films with sometimes-questionable CGI.A leaked synopsis of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 shows Elbas animated echidna joining Jim Carreys Dr. Robotnik to search for an emerald with the ability to destroy and build civilizations.Elba will be joined by Ben Schwartz (who voiced Sonic in the original film) and returning live action actors James Marsden and Tika Sumpter, as Maddie and Tom. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will feature Miles Tails Prower, who appeared in a post credit scene in the first film. It is not clear if Colleen OShaughnessey will voice the flying fox character. She has also voiced Tails in Sonic games media. Or if hell will be recast with a more well-known actor.Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be in theaters April 8, 2022.
