Biden says Afghans must 'fight for themselves' as Taliban advances, does not regret U.S. withdrawal

This move effectively ended America's longest conflict.Biden stated that the White House had spent more than a trillion dollars on training and equipping Afghan forces with modern equipment.Biden stated that Afghan leaders must come together. They must fight for their country, for themselves.Biden in April ordered that approximately 3,000 U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan be withdrawn by Sept. 11.The Pentagon is close to completing its massive task of pulling out service members and equipment from Afghanistan. The U.S. military mission is scheduled to conclude by August 31.The Taliban have made remarkable battlefield advances as the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan. However, they are vastly outnumbered in Afghanistan by the Afghan military. The Taliban quickly seized five Afghan provincial capitals over the weekend, with three of them capturing in one day.
