Wix today announced Branded App by Wix. This product allows business owners to create native apps without having to write code. Although the publicly traded company offers tools to help people and businesses manage their online presences, its best-known feature is its drag-and drop website builder. The platform has expanded its user-friendly approach to make it easier for anyone to create an app, even if they don't know how to code.Ronny Elkayam (VP Mobile, App Market, & Strategic Products at Wix) said that users came to us asking for a native app that was branded with their logo and name. Businesses are a large portion of our users. They want to appear bigger than they actually are. They want to be able to follow big companies that have native apps.Branded App by Wix costs $200 per month. Users will also need to pay an annual $99 fee to be in the App Store and a $25 one-time fee for Google Play. Wix says native mobile apps can drive more sales for businesses. Wix users who already have a Wix site can use the app builder to integrate features from that website. This makes the process easier.The same menu will appear on your app if you are a restaurant and have it set up online for ordering. It doesn't need to be configured. Elkayam stated that any purchases or orders made from this menu will be displayed in your dashboard.Five million of Wix's 200 million users are paid subscribers. Wix's most popular plan for businesses is $27 per monthly for a website. This includes access to ecommerce features. Even users who have a free website, which has limited functionality and is emblazoned by the Wix logo, can create an app BrandedApp by Wix is not an added feature for existing subscribers. App owners have the ability to customize their app icons, layouts, and content. This includes product pages, booking services and forums, groups and chat functions, blogs and push notifications, as well as blog posts and other features. Wix will update the apps automatically to ensure they are compatible with the most recent versions of iOS or Android.Bubble is a competitor in the no code app building market. It charges between $29 to $529 per month and offers a free plan that allows users to learn how the product works and create their own app. Bubbles' offerings are web-based while Wixs apps can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store.Elkayam stated that Wix saw 31 million users in 2020. This was despite the coronavirus pandemic. Tomorrow will be the company's Q2 earnings.
