Rob Manfred must be looking to Barstool to keep Major League Baseball racist and white

It's not surprising that Major League Baseball's racist, white and prejudicial commissioner is currently in negotiations to broadcast the midweek games to America's most misogynist, racist and prejudiced site.AdvertisementThe Colorado Rockies and MLB were able to survive a scandal involving racism in which it was initially believed that a white man in the stands shouted the N-word at a Black Marlins player. However, news of a possible deal with Barstool Sports put the league in another crisis.Andrew Marchand, New York Posts:Major League Baseball has been in negotiations with Barstool Sports about hosting national midweek games on their platforms. Barstool stands out because it has the connection to an older audience MLB seeks and could create buzz through its alternative delivery model. This audience is against Black people, Asians, and women who aren't straight white men. This column is not meant to disparage Barstool. They are exactly who they have always been. This column will highlight how Manfred, MLB love to pretend that they are something they are not. Situations like these prove that they are liars.AdvertisementTonight I am joining our 30 club baseball operation officials to recognize that systemic racism is a devastating problem, that each of us can do more, that baseball can help more as an industry, that Black Lives Matter, that we are united for the change. Manfred made this statement last summer following the deaths of George Floyd and Ahmaud Abery. He packaged his lie in a box with a bow and placed it in a pretty box. We intend to use the platform provided by our game to not only be allies but actively participate in social change.Manfred and MLB decided to ensure that America's history would remember that they tried in the wake of an American faux racial reckoning.AdvertisementYou see, systemic racism, prejudices and intolerance are not easy to overcome. No matter how much you love your American pastime, a tweet, a post on Instagram, or a statement can magically cure decades of hateful behavior.AdvertisementFor all those who were surprised or discouraged to hear that MLB was in negotiations to acquire Barstool, you are either stupid or ignorant of the history of the league. Each season, MLB dedicates a day to Jackie Robinson where every player wears his No. 42 was named in his memory. Did you know that only 7 percent of the MLB players were African-Americans on Opening Day?Robinson said once that Negroes are now represented in every major-league team and every minor league. We are able to stand up for what we believe with millions of Negroes from other walks of life.AdvertisementManfred would probably read this and counter it with examples of the various programs the league has in order to grow the game. For example, the 2020 Front Office Sports report showed that ESPN's MLB ratings had increased 83 percent among women aged 18-34.But don't be fooled. Contrary to what you might have heard, numbers are only a part of the story.AdvertisementThey checked me through security five more times than any other men. Some of my coworkers saw it and were shocked to see that this had happened. A National League front-office female staffer said that she was told by ESPN that the story highlighted how women who work in baseball believe that MLB still has a lot of work ahead. She explained that you need to be tough because you have to go through so much. It's not just about people making you look bad, it's also sexual harassment. Men touching you in inappropriate ways, ticket guys refusing to give you your ticket, and you being kicked out.AdvertisementBarstool seems to accept racism and sexual harassment, even though the CEO is a female and MLB. Manfred and his team should not be credited for pulling out of a deal in the last minute when they shouldn't have.Major League Baseball is who it has always been. They would surely find a way of spinning a deal that falls in extra innings because of public outcry, such as a home run and a dinger.
