Instead of offering a bonus on bought miles, LifeMiles offers a bonus when you transfer LifeMiles into another member.Transfer LifeMiles to receive a 115% bonusLifeMiles offers a 115% bonus on LifeMiles transfers to other members through Friday, August 20, 2021. To see the offer, you must log in to your account. I cannot guarantee that everyone will be eligible. Based on the accounts I manage, it seems to be the standard offer. This bonus does not apply to miles transferred between LifeMiles accounts. For example, this does not apply to the transfer of flexible points to LifeMiles. You can't transfer miles that you don't have, so this is only applicable if you have a LifeMiles mileage balance.LifeMiles charges 1.5 cents per mile for each transfer, and you can transfer up 75,000 miles per calendar year (before the 115% bonus). The cost of transferring 75,000 miles would be $1,125 and you'd get 161,250 miles total in the account to which you transfer. It's almost like earning miles at 1.3 cents per mile (since you generate 86,250 miles for $1125), and then being able consolidate miles into one account. This is a good price and competitive with the usual cost LifeMiles sells miles. This deal is great if you want to consolidate miles in one account. It can also be used as a way to generate miles.Use the correct credit cardYou could save even more. This could be for good or ill. Sometimes the program does not have the same access to partner awards as other airlines. In other cases, the reverse is true.It is why I recommend that you do some dummy award searches prior to acquiring miles in any program. This will allow you to get an idea of how award availability matches your needs.I have redeemed LifeMiles to Lufthansa business classBottom lineLifeMiles offers bonus miles for transferred miles a few times a year. This could be a great deal. It is worth it to be able generate miles for as little as 1.3 cents per (or possibly even less if you take into account credit card rewards).Personally, I would only use this option if I had a very short-term purpose for LifeMiles, as it is rarely logical to purchase miles speculatively. Are you planning to transfer LifeMiles with a 11.55% bonus?
