Japan's TechnoPro acquires Indian app development studio Robosoft for $108 million ' TechCrunch

Robosoft Technologies, an India-based app development studio, announced Tuesday that it reached a definitive deal to sell the business for $108 million to Japan's IT services company TechnoPro.Robosoft Technologies was founded in Udupi in 1996, a small city in the Southwest Indian state Karnataka. It began its journey as a software-development firm.It was among the first companies worldwide to be certified by Apple as Mac OS developers. The iPhone-maker has recognized it many times over the years.With the introduction of the iPhone and the App store ecosystem, we knew that mobile would be a big market. It has attracted clients in a variety of categories, including news, games, utilities, lifestyle, and has expanded its product advisory and tools for engineering, design, and analytics.Robosoft was responsible for creating the original app that NDTV used to broadcast its news. It also has clients such as Viacom, the media giant, and McDonalds India. It also has clients in the U.S.A. and Middle East.Robosoft announced Tuesday that its current management team would continue to lead the company.
