Tom Pidcock and Adam Yates to ride Vuelta a Espana for Ineos

From the section CyclingOlympic mountain bike gold medallist Tom Pidcock and fellow Briton Adam Yates will compete in the Vuelta a Espana For Ineos Grenadiers.On 14 August, the final Grand Tour of the season will begin, just three weeks after Pidcock (22), became the first Briton ever to win an Olympic mountain biking medal.Yates, 29 years old, will race the 10th Grand Tour in his career.The race starts in Burgos, and it covers 21 stages until it finishes on 5 September.Kurt Bogaerts was Pidcock's long-term coach and friend at Ineos. He called his mountain bike cross country gold "mission impossible" as it occurred less than two months after he had broken his collarbone during training.Born in Leeds, the Leeds-born cyclist has won several world titles at the under-23 and 18 level in cyclocross, road and mountain biking events.Yates and he will race alongside Ineos' former Tour de France winner, and current Giro d'Italia champ Egan Bernal. They will also be racing alongside Olympic road race champion Richard Carapaz and Salatore Puccio.
