R. Kelly Wants Charges for Exposing Partners to Herpes Dropped from Federal Case

R. Kelly wants to win his federal sex crime case. He cites public health laws to help get the herpes-related charges dropped.New legal docs have been filed in the Eastern District of NY by the singer, obtained from TMZ. He asks the court to dismiss charges of knowingly exposing partners to herpes.Kelly was accused by federal prosecutors of exposing 2 people in March 2020 to an STD. These charges were added to the long list of federal charges he faces for sexually exploiting young girls and women under age.The new docs claim that herpes is not included in the STD umbrella -- like syphilis and gonorrhea -- according to Kelly's legal team. This is based on the New York State Dept. definition. of Health and the World Health Organization.He points out that these orgs consider herpes a virus and not a bacterial venereal illness. Therefore, he would like to see the herpes-related counts dropped.We've already reported that Kelly is also preparing for his Chicago criminal trial and dealing with new allegations that he molested and groomed a 17-year old boy he met at McDonald's.
