Facebook adds Photobucket and Google Calendar to its data portability options ' TechCrunch

Facebook today announced two new destinations where you can move your data from the social media network. The company announced that users can now move their photos to Photobucket, and their event listings to Google Calendar. Hadi Michel, Product Manager, stated that the tool was completely redesigned to make it easier and more intuitive. This will allow users to see what they can share on which platforms. Users can launch multiple transfers and have better control over what they export in each transfer. This feature is another added to the Data Transfer Project. It's an open-source project that was developed by Microsoft, Google and Facebook. Facebook users are already able to send their photos to Google's image-storage service as well as Dropbox and Google Documents. This is partly a solution to the long-pending ACCESS Act that would allow users to transfer their data onto any other platform. Facebook calls for clearer guidelines from government regarding who is responsible to protect that data when it is transmitted to other services.Editor's Note: This article originally appeared on Engadget.
