Apple Reportedly Bidding on Film Starring Jennifer Lawrence as Hollywood Agent

Variety reports that Apple and Netflix are among the bidders to an "Oscar bait” film starring Jennifer Lawrence playing the role of Sue Mengers, a Hollywood talent agent. The film's bidding has apparently surpassed $80million and could rise.Mengers was a well-known Hollywood "superagent" who represented some of the most prominent names in Hollywood acting, such as Burt Reynolds and Barbra Streisand. Her outgoing personality and determination to get the best deal for her clients was what made her a household name. Paolo Sorrentino directed the film adaptation of her life. He won an Academy Award in 2014 for "The Great Beauty," an Italian film.Lawrence is most well-known for his roles as Katniss Everdeen and Mystique in "The Hunger Games" films. He also starred in films such as "Winter's Bone", "American Hustle" and others. Lawrence will also star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio's in the Netflix movie "Don't Look Up." This film will tell the story about two low-level astronomers, who must embark on a media tour to warn the world of a coming comet.Apple TV+ is currently securing several stars-studded original movies.
