Trump's acting attorney general testified for 7 hours on the former president's efforts to overturn the election, Sen. Dick Durbin says

Seven hours of testimony.Rosen gave a private testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee (which Durbin chairs) on Saturday.Durbin stated that Rosen was open-minded. There was so much there. It was a lot. Imagine seven hours of testimony. It is vital that we ask these questions, because the Department of Justice was a frightening place from a constitutional standpoint.CNN's Dana Bash questioned Durbin about the most shocking aspect of Rosen's testimony.Durbin responded: "Just how personally and directly involved was the president, the pressure that he was putting onto Jeffrey Rosen. It was very specific, real and very real.Rosen stated that he was being asked by the White House leadership to meet with some people who had wild, bizarre theories about why the election was invalid. He refused to do so.The Washington Post reported that Trump called Rosen nearly daily in the final months of his presidency to press him into helping reverse the election results.In June, House lawmakers published emails showing that the Trump White House pressured Rosen to contest election results in certain areas of the country.
