It is stunning.Haunting ImagesAstronomers in Australia have found a cloud of electrons floating around space, which appears to look almost like two ghosts dancing in space.Ray Norris is an astronomer and professor at Western Sydney University's School of Science. He published an article in Cosmos Magazine about how his team discovered radio galaxies that contained supermassive black hole centers. According to the article, the black holes emit jets of electrons which are bent into bizarre shapes by intergalactic winds. This results in an ethereal spectacle.Do not take our word for this. It was discovered in the Evolutionary Map of the Universe project. Its purpose is to collect and count approximately 70 million radio sources from all over the Universe.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Australian Square Kilometre array Pathfinder (ASKAP) is used by the EMU project to accomplish this. According to Norris, this radio telescope allows astronomers a deeper look into the Universe than any other. He said that boldly going where no telescope has been before will lead to new discoveries. There are more surprises in storeThe EMU project has made many other surprising discoveries. The EMU team also discovered mysterious radio emissions that span a million light-years across galaxies. The phenomenon has been called the Odd Radio Circles. Researchers are still trying to figure out their origins but they are doing a lot of research, Norris says.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe EMU project continues to be in progress. Astronomers will find more amazing and disturbing discoveries in the future.READ MORE: Dancing ghosts [Cosmos Magazine]Continue reading about Astronomy: More from the Bizarre Twist: Astronomers Detect Light From Behind Black Hole
