Shaedon Sharpe, No. 6 men's basketball prospect, trims options to G League Ignite, Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State

Shaedon Sharpe is the No. The No. 6 prospect in the ESPN class for 2022 says that he has reduced his options to five: Arizona, Kansas Kentucky, Kentucky, and Oklahoma State.Sharpe was a strong candidate for being considered the best long-term prospect of high school basketball, especially after Jalen Duren and Emoni Bates announced they would be moving up to the class 2021. Sharpe's outstanding spring and summer showcased his explosiveness and shot-making abilities.Sharpe, a Canadian-born player, was almost unknown one year ago. He was either unranked or at the fringes of the top 100 most recruiting services. Sharpe scored 22.6 points, 5.8 rebound and 2.7 assists over 12 games at EYBL. Sharpe led the event in scoring points and finished in the top five for 3-pointers made. Always noted for his NBA prototype frame and highlight-reel-caliber dunks and blocks, Sharpe ramped up his aggressiveness substantially the past few months, while showing significant improvement as a passer, creator and shooter in the half-court.Sharpe stated, "I've always known that I can get a bucket." My Uplay Canada team placed me in a position to make plays in the EYBL. It was a matter just of working out, getting in the gym and taking advantage of any opportunities.Sharpe has announced that he will be returning to Dream City Christian, Glendale, Arizona for his senior year. Sharpe will be making official visits to Kansas (at end of August), Arizona (Sept. 10) and Oklahoma State (Sept. 10. He will then make a decision on where to sign with his parents and Dwayne Washington, director of Uplay Canada. He said, "I'm 100% open for all options right now." "I'm open to all possibilities. To decide if this is something I want, I need to know more about the G League and what they offer. I have had people suggest that I go to Kentucky. It could be because Shai Gilgeous Alexander went there from Uplay, and it was over. They were my only official visit so far. All the other schools requested that I wait until the students returned to campus, and the football games were over. My family and Dwayne are the only ones who really know anything about me.Sharpe stated that he turned down a seven-figure offer from Overtime Elite League for a two year because of the uncertainty surrounding the new venture. Sharpe said that NIL won't play a significant role in his decision about where he will play in 2022. The range of financial opportunities will likely be the same in all options, so he is more focused on finding the best place to prepare for the NBA."Who will help me be the best version I can be long-term?" Sharpe stated that there were only so many schools with a plan for her. "I want to be a better, more versatile player. I will improve my ballhandling skills and my ability to pull-up 3s from deeper. To become a Bradley Beal-type, do-it all combo guard, I have to be able to work on everything. That is my goal.
