14."A feeling among young women that their looks are most important and that they will only be able to get a man if it is maintained. This is not toxic behavior, but a toxic mindset. Many of my 18- to 24-year-old female colleagues are between 25 and 35 years old. The break-time conversation is often focused almost exclusively on weight, makeup, hair, and beauty treatments. Although it's boring, once, when we were talking about waxing, I commented that I wouldn't get a bikini wax. The silence was broken by one of the girls who said, "But you have a boyfriend don't you?" I replied, "Yes." He doesn't seem to care. He claimed he had never been waxed so why should he? They were all like, "OMG, that's very unusual, he doesn’t mind!" It is so sad that they believe no man will want them unless their hair is shaved and polished. "I'm certain most men don’t think this way."
