Play seemed to be on the brink of suspension until Broad appeared to expel Rahul.Rain is expected for Sunday but it also was due to spoil Saturday's memorable day. Root's captain's decision changed their course, changing them from defeat to a chance at victory.Root arrived in England at the age of 49. However, he immediately changed the pace with his flowing cover drives, urgent running, and quick thinking.Sibley added 89 to his total. He twice had the possibility of being run out, and the overturned lbw in his 28 balls from 133 balls. Bairstow had 30, Lawrence's 25, and Curran's punchy 32.Root drove down the ground in his 21st Test century to celebrate, and it was a long and emotional moment. Root signalled to his wife Carrie, and beat his chest in the direction England fans.Root was outed by Bumrah in the first over of his second new ball. This sparked a final England slide with four wickets for just 29 runs.Trent Bridge was filled with a standing ovation as he left, knowing that he had seen one of the greatest Test innings.India stays on trackIndia has won only one Test in England, in 1986. Root is still favourite for a repeat.Some loose shots helped them. Sibley drove at an outside edge to give Sibley, but Bairstow pulled in a straight line to deep square legs. Jos Buttler was not able to score.Just as Root and Curran were gaining momentum and India was feeling the heat of the crowd, Bumrah intervened.Root got an extra bounce, Curran shoveled to mid-on, and Stuart Broad was bowled his first ball by a thundering yorker.Robinson's slice to the third man signalled that the chase was about to start, Rohit and Rahul facing a dangerous period against an upbeat England.Broad was able to silence the crowd but Broad had to make a change and remove Rahul.
