Sources told ESPN that the Charlotte Hornets have extended coach James Borrego's multi-year contract.Borrego was entering his final season of his original 4-year contract. He is now being rewarded for the growth and development of a young roster which reached the league's playoff tournament last season.Borrego (43), has transformed a veteran-laden roster into a young core, which includes LaMelo ball, Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington and Gordon Hayward, a veteran who had a strong but short season due to injury, were added by Borrego, 43. In free agency, the Hornets acquired UConn's James Bouknight and Kelly Oubre Jr., a guard-forward from UConn.Devonte Graham was one of Borrego's most successful projects. This was in a sign and trade deal.Borrego's record is 95-124 over his three seasons. He was also 33-39 in his first two seasons and a 10th seed in the Eastern Conference last year.
