According to tax documents obtained by The Intercept, a group linked to major hubs of efforts to undermine credibility of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election received millions of dollars from several right-wing donors. According to a tax document obtained by The Intercept, the Bradley Impact Fund is connected to a larger foundation. This foundation was identified as a key player in the distribution of money to organizations that promote conspiracy theories about election fraud, deny the results of the 2020 elections, and undertake legal efforts to overturn them. The Bradley Impact Fund, like the larger group, has provided money to groups that support election fraud conspiracy theories and attempted to overturn President Donald Trump's defeat in 2020. The first public disclosure of Bradley Impacts donors is possible because they were apparently kept anonymous by the nonprofits organization. The Intercept obtained a tax document that contained a list of donors. It was a publicly filed IRS form. The document also included a list showing a few large corporate and individual donors to Bradley Impact Fund. The fiscal year 2018 filing lists contributions ranging from $782,000 to $1.5 Million. Bradley Impact Fund is a donor-advised trust fund. This allows anonymous donations to be made by allowing donors to give to a fund and then to specific recipients. According to the tax document, Bradley Impact was supported by ABC Supply Co., the largest wholesale roofing distributor in the United States, Boelter Companies, which is described online as a supplier of equipment and supplies for the commercial foodservice, hospitality and beverage industries, and Bandon Golf Courses. A former CEO in the Wisconsin music industry, the CEO of an equipment supplier to pipeline companies, as well as a few small family foundations, are other donors. (Neither Bradley Impact or the donors in the tax filing replied to The Intercept's requests for comment. In the 2018 fiscal year filing, Bradley Impact was supported by the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee. A linked, larger nonprofit, the Bradley Foundation, was also listed in the fiscal year 2018 filing. It is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. According to the 2018 filing the Bradley Foundation donated $2.5 million to The Bradley Impact Fund. In a statement, the Bradley Foundation stated that the Bradley Impact Fund was a separate entity. Five Bradley Impact board members and officers are board members of the Bradley Foundation. The Bradley Impact group claims that its donors outlook aligns with the larger foundation. Tax filings for fiscal year 2018 and 2019 show that Bradley Impact funded some of those same organizations funded by Bradley Foundation groups. These organizations are part of a network consisting of election fraud conspiracists who undertook legal efforts in order to overthrow 2020's election. Bradley Impact gave more than $300,000. to the Public Interest Legal Foundation over the past two tax years. This group was identified by The New Yorker as being at the forefront of attempts to invalidate the 2020 election. Bradley Impact funded at least three right-wing groups, Project Veritas and Turning Point USA that promoted election fraud conspiracy theories. In pro-Trump circles, the issue of election integrity is becoming a serious matter. After Trump's defeat in the 2020 election, conspiracy theories claiming that President Joe Biden stole the election gained momentum. He took office in January 2021. Trump had set the stage for these ideas by spreading suspicion about the election process before his loss. This was something he did in 2016 to prepare for his race with Hillary Clinton. Trump supporters have increased voter suppression in an effort to maintain their political power. The Georgia voter suppression law is one of many current issues in America regarding voting rights. Republicans are trying to make it harder for people to vote.A subset of the right is active, more Trumpist than conservative, and they are trying to regain and keep their power, even at the expense of fair and free elections.
