He was asked to remove a mask from his face.Pensacola News Journal reported the incident as the plane was about to land in Pensacola, on Thursday 5th August.John Loucky (70) from Canyonville, Oregon was arrested shortly after landing at Pensacola International Airport at 2:30 pm.According to authorities, Loucky was arrested for battery and resisting arrest. Loucky was taken to the Escambia County Jail on $500 bail.According to the report, "He was not properly wearing the mask." Mike Wood, Pensacola Police Department spokesperson, told the News Journal that he didn't wear it properly.He continued: "The flight attendant asked if he could put on his mask properly. Then he became angry and struck her arm. He hit her arm.Insider reached out to Pensacola International Airport but they did not respond immediately.The outlet reported that Loucky could be facing a maximum of $40,000 in fines, on top of the criminal charges. According to Lewis Garvin, an airport spokesperson said that Loucky could face a $10,000 fine for failing to listen to a crew member, and $30,000 for assaulting another crew member.This incident is the result of a series mask-related fights on planes during a time when violence has been spiking.A maskless American Airlines passenger shouted at police for ten minutes during her arrest. The New Orleans Advocate reported on Friday that the flight was about to depart Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, but was delayed by the mask incident for as long as an hour.
