It is time to once again accept Catherine the Great (Elle Fanning), as our benevolent ruler.You heard it right. Season 2 of The Great is Hulu's liberal retelling of Russia's Empress's story. It premiered on Nov. 19. Season 1 was about Catherine plotting a coup against her husband Emperor Peter (Nicholas Hoult), Season 2 will see her seize control of the Russian throne, and deal with the consequences. It was one thing to orchestrate a coup, but it was quite another to rule a country like Russia. This is a completely different beast.Catherine will have to deal with her court, Gillian Anderson, her mother, and her changing relationship with Peter as she tries to bring Enlightenment-era ideals back to Russia.Hulu premieres Season 2 of The Great on November 19, 2009.
