Although you may have felt a little nervous during the third quarter, when Serbia pulled within 14 points of the USA, the lead quickly rose to 19 (58-39) as the fourth quarter began. Team USA won the game 79 to 59. The Americans shot 48% from the floor, and made 88 per cent of their 16 free-throw attempts. Brittney Griner was the leader with 15 points, 12 rebounds and a 6-for-11 shooting record. Chelsea Gray scored 14 points while shooting 5-for-6. Breanna Stewart added 12 points and nine boards.The current Olympic record for Team USA is 71-3. They have not lost an Olympic game since 1992. This means that every gold medal win from 1996 to 2016 was a perfect 8-0 record. It would be 6-0 if the Olympic format had been changed to allow for three groups of four rather than six before the knockout stage.
