One notable star falls under a different category.Manning stated, "Tom Brady will be coming in, sitting at my section," during Fox's broadcast of Thursday's Hall of Fame preseason match between the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Dallas Cowboys. Before turning to humor, Manning added,"I don't know how my Colts teammates will handle it, but that's a huge sign that he's taking his time."The 44-year-old Brady is currently in his second training camp with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His rivalry with Manning during his time with New England Patriots (2000-19) produced some of the most memorable games in the NFL. This was mostly when Manning was with Colts (1998-2011), but also when Manning finished his career with Denver Broncos (2012)-15.Their teams met 17 times. Brady won 11 of those meetings. However, Brady-led teams defeated Manning's teams 3-2 in the playoffs.Brady's first win as a starter was against Manning's Colts on Sept. 30, 2001. The rivalry was notable for its regular matchups between teams from different divisions and the high stakes games.Brady reflected on their rivalry as Manning was elected into the Hall of Fame earlier in the year.He said that Peyton was someone he admired as a quarterback and as a leader of a football team. Peyton was an older man than I and did things the right way. This is why I always looked up at him. His team was always in the game. Although our teams were rivals, it was clear that when we went against Peyton-led teams, we were facing the best in the league. It is not surprising that he would be inducted into the first-ballot Hall of Fame.
