Inside the fight to stop destructive fishing in marine protected areas

Greenpeace activists aboard the Sea Beaver are crowded around a screen that shows a trawler on the Bassurelle Sandbank. This protected marine area is located in the Channel between England, France and England. The license is for a particularly destructive form of fishing, which has increased rapidly over the past year.Campaigners are currently focusing their attention on the vessel. The campaigners spent the last few months on the English south coast documenting and disarming industrial fishing in England's 178 marine protected zones (MPAs). These areas are intended to alleviate marine pollution.
