Take me out to the sportsbook -- Betting site next to Wrigley Field approved

CHICAGO -- Thursday's unanimous vote by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks approved the Cubs' plans for a two-story sportsbook to be built adjacent to Wrigley Field.Sources told ESPN that the addition would take at least one year to construct. It will be accessible to the public prior to, during, and after the games. Fans will not need to attend the game to enter Wrigley Field via the sportsbook.The Cubs released a statement saying that they were pleased to receive approval from the Chicago Landmarks Commission. "With this approval, we are excited for the potential to bring revenue and jobs to our fans," the Cubs stated. This sportsbook will help to create economic impact by creating jobs, wages, investments, and revenue for the City and County. It comes at a time where new sources of revenue are required to fund infrastructure projects.Fans attending Cubs games and other walk-up bettors will have access to a planned sportsbook located outside Wrigley Field.
