How this 28-year-old 'digital nomad' travels the world while running a successful business

Johannes Larsson is living the dream of many young people.The Swede is young and successful. Many of us pass all the difficult tests and then find ourselves at another desk from dawn to dusk.Are we all ready to settle down and live this life after school? Johannes Larson seems to think so.Insider he says that he didn't like school and that he knew a better way.Larsson discovered online marketing when he was just 15 years old. After some experiments, he was able to begin earning an income every day. He saw the potential in the industry and was curious about the purpose of studying so long when he could make money while he was at school.Larsson chose to leave academia to pursue a career in travel and made it his mission to create a business that was independent of any location and could generate income.Larsson eventually came up with the idea of his main business in 2016. Financer.com is a financial comparison portal. It works via Google and social media, and can be used to compare credit cards and savings accounts.He explains that the tool compares all data and gives users the best options. If the user chooses to use one of our options, we earn some commission."Larsson's business had 42 employees and was active in 26 countries by 2019.Larsson and his team. "We spent a lot time making sure there was no inefficiency and that everything would run smoothly without our interference."Larsson's online businesses made a lot of money in 2018. They generated sales totalling around $1.69-$2.25 million.Larsson managed to continue his travels around the globe and discover new countries even with only 42 employees.He says that "since everything can be done online, it doesn't matter where you are located." The founder says that the team collaborates online using Slack and other online communication tools, including with clients and business partners.The young entrepreneur currently resides in Koh Samui, Thailand.The "intrapreneurship principle" is the basis of the entire company. This means that bosses hire employees to act as entrepreneurs.He explained that instead of telling employees what to do, he suggested hiring people with an entrepreneurial spirit to help steer the ship and build the company together.Larsson believes that this model will be more popular over the years: "It promotes development and growth in the company because every member of the team wants the best.However, life on the move has its advantagesI can still remember being on a six-month Caribbean trip and being able to just relax on the beaches with my laptop. Larsson says that I began to appreciate the fruits of my labor, and felt a great sense of accomplishment because I could work remotely. This allowed me to live a good life and still make a decent income," Larsson said.Although it might seem idyllic to lay in a hammock while you work on your laptop, it is not always as glamorous as you may think.Larsson stated that anyone who has lived abroad for a while without settling down will see the downsides of this lifestyle. "One of these disadvantages is the absence of deep friendships."Larsson states that any friendships you make, you must leave behind when you travel again. "This is not a particularly difficult situation for me because everyone is just a plane away now and there are many ways to stay in contact but it's still far from having close friends that you see every day or week."Larsson's lifestyle is not without its disadvantages. Larsson can't own too many possessions.Larsson says, "After two years of traveling, I sold or gave up all my possessions." Larsson says, "All I owned was what I had in my pockets."Larsson stated that it was really good to be free from material possessions, but that it also means that you will miss out on many perks such as a large desk, a coffee machine or an ergonomic chair.Although it sounds idyllic, constantly changing places can be a nightmare. Instagram / mrjolaLarsson said that he has overcome these small pitfalls and that the lifestyle he lives is what people want, but it does not have to be a fantasy. "First, realize that it's possible."Larsson believes that if you take the right approach, you can achieve his lifestyle. It all revolves around creating value.He says, "I see many people make the mistake to start at the wrong place." They either live a glamorous lifestyle before they build a business, or they don't think about creating value for others.It is possible to travel while running a business. There is a danger that you will become too distracted or not work hard enough in the beginning when you are constantly moving to new and exciting places.Larsson advises, "Don't be comfortable until you have earned it."
