Although they were delayed for a year because of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic the delays and other precautions such as banning spectators didn't stop athletes or workers contracting the virus, the viruses have not been stopped. The climate crisis is another. The heat has been a constant problem at the Olympics. There were tennis matches that felt like 99 degrees Fahrenheit (37 Celsius) and volleyball matches that left players with blisters. The women's soccer teams have requested their matches to be moved or postponed. These are just a few of the most dangerous conditions that have affected this year's games.
