Marvel What If Clip Shows Steve Rogers Smashing Hydra in Armor

What If features different characters from Marvels comics and the MCU in self-contained stories. These stories reimagine the characters as distinct versions of themselves, rather than what they were used to seeing on the big or small screen. The show asks what if TChalla were abducted by Ravagers? What if Nebula grew hair? What if Peggy Carter had the first super-soldier serum and Steve Rogers was never Captain America?AdvertisementThis last question, along with some of its answers, is addressed in What Ifs' first episode. Hayley Atwell and Sebastian Stan star as Carter and Bucky Barnes respectively. The episode tells the story of how Captain Carter became the first superhuman. Watch the clip below, where Steve (Josh Keaton sounds a lot like Chris Evans) makes a dramatic entrance.Although Steve is not involved in the war effort, it isn't to say that he isn't fighting alongside Peggy. The clip shows us how Steve from this universe ends-up doing his part to defeat Nazis. The Hydra Stomper is a close cousin to the early prototypes and armor suits that Tony and Howard Stark developed in Marvel continuity. Its presence in What If could be an indication of this universe's first Iron Man. It will be interesting to see how Steve Rogers' legacy continues as Captain Carters story continues in What Ifs 2nd season. What If will premiere on August 11.
