Canada's Andre de Grasse wins 200-meter gold as American men finish 2, 3, 4

Canada's Andre de Grasse has won the Olympic gold medal for men's 200m five years after finishing second behind Usain Bolt. This ends a string of close calls that had been made by the 26-year old.De Grasse won the gold in a national record time of 19.62 seconds. He was ahead of two Americans who were competing for the medals.Kenneth Bednarek took silver in a personal best 19.68 seconds. Noah Lyles, the 2019 world champion and race favourite, took bronze in 19.74. Four nights before, he won bronze in the 100m to go with his third-place Rio de Janeiro medal. He also won silver in Rio's 200 meters, where he famously challenged Bolt and got a playful finger wag before being outclassed by the Jamaican champion.Other medal races at the Olympic Stadium saw Emmanuel Korir win gold and lead a Kenyan 1-2 finish for the 800m men's race. Peruth Chemutai from Uganda finished second behind American Courtney Frerichs in the women's 3,000m steeplechase to claim gold.Korir managed to pass Peter Bol of Australia on the last turn, and he won in 1:45.06.
