Sources tell ESPN that Manchester City is trying to sign Jack Grealish, Aston Villa's midfielder, for 100 million in order to secure Saturday's Community Shield match against Leicester City at Wembley.
According to ESPN, City manager Pep Guardiola identified Grealish in his summer targets. While a move for Kane is still not imminent, the Premier League champions are close at completing a deal for Grealish with Villa.

The 25-year old signed a five year contract at Villa Park in 2020. However, City and Villa were made aware that the England player wanted to move to the Etihad Stadium during the transfer window.
Although Villa are not keen to sell their star player, ESPN has been told by sources that there is acceptance among the club that Grealish cannot be stopped from achieving his dream of playing in Champions League. The 33m club record signing of Emi Buendia, a Norwich native, in June was made in order to allow Dean Smith to have a ready-made replacement.

Sources also claim that City are confident that Grealish will be able to leave his boyhood club and that the finalizing of personal terms won't delay the move.
Although a final agreement is yet to be signed with Villa, sources claim that negotiations are moving at a rapid pace. Grealish could have a medical and move to City in the time that Guardiola's squad can be linked up for Saturday's match with FA Cup winners Leicester.
Grealish will be the most expensive English footballer ever, surpassing Harry Maguire's 80m when he leaves Leicester for Manchester United in 2019. He completes his move from City in 2019.
However, this status could be temporary if City can seal a Kane deal before the Aug. 31 deadline.
