Markieff Morris finalizing deal with Miami Heat, sources say

Sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that Markieff Morris, a free-agent forward, has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Heat.Morris has just completed two seasons playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2020-21, the veteran forward averaged 6.7 rebounds and 4.4 points per game. After a time in the rotation, he was promoted to the starting lineup when LeBron James and Anthony Davis were injured.Morris played in 22 consecutive games at once and scored double figures in 15 of them.He was the most used big man on the team, and was instrumental in L.A. winning the 2020 championship in Orlando, Florida.Morris was however only able to play in four games of the Lakers' 4-2 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the first round.This report was contributed by Ohm Youngmisuk, ESPN.
