Discord now lets you customize your user profile on its apps ' TechCrunch

Discord has added a new feature for mobile users that you would find in a traditional social network. After the Discord desktop app features were released in June, Discord launched Tuesday an option that allows users to personalize their profiles across both its iOS and Android apps. This new option is found in Discords user setting menu under user profile. You can describe your entire life in just 190 characters, including links, emojis, and images. If the default Discord profile color isn't fitting your entire thing, you can choose a custom color. You can still check the site for updates. The company added custom profiles to offer premium Nitro subscribers the ability to choose from an animated GIF or an image for their profile banner. These options are available on desktop already, but Discord users who use Discord on iOS and Android will have the ability to customize their experience.Although the feature addition is not significant, it's a step towards the chat app becoming more profile-centric social media networks. The Discord chat rooms (also known as servers) have been the platform's main focus for a long time, but the company introduced a lot of quality-of-life features in recent months.Discord launched threaded, autoarchiving conversations earlier this year and Clubhouse-like audio events spaces. It also acquired Sentropy, an AI-powered platform moderation company. Discord is already a great service for community-driven voice or text chat. The recent additions will help it attract even more users beyond its gaming roots.
