Apple updates Mac Pro GPUs with new AMD Radeon options

Apple will update the Mac Pro on Tuesday with new graphics cards modules, including options that are based on AMD Radeon Pro W6000 Series. According to the company, the Radeon Pro Pro W6800XMPX Module, Radeon Pro Pro W6800X Dual MPX Module and Radeon Pro Pro W6900XMPX module will give the Pro a boost in performance for the graphic-intensive tasks it was designed around. Apple's continued support of the Pro is a good indication that they are still committed to its modular design.AMD announced the new graphics cards back in June with promises of up to 79 per cent faster performance than previous generations.Prices for the GPU modules vary according to the Apples Store listings shared below. Each module adds four Thunderbolt3 ports and one HDMI 2.0 port regardless of which version.Radeon ProW6800X MPX Modul: $2,400 additional with 32GB GDDR6 Memory. [and] upto 22.2 teraflops single-precision or 44.4 teraflops half-precision computing.Apple claims that the new GPU modules will replace previous AMD Radeon Pro Vega II MX Modules. The new modules can be ordered in configure-to-order on Apples website or as standalone kits. Apple will also be phasing out AMD Radeon Pro Vega II DuoMPX Module and AMD Radeon Pro Vega IIMPX Module as part of the new module launch. However, existing customers can still purchase both modules in standalone kits.
