We have officially reached the peak of Ohio man travels to Florida by 2021.Frontier passenger assaults flight attendants, gets restrainedMaxwell Berry, 22, of Ohio was arrested after a Frontier Airlines flight between Philadelphia and Miami on Saturday, July 31, 2021. According to police reports, the man had consumed two drinks and tried to order another on the flight. This is when the real problems began (I'm guessing there was some pre-flight drinking). According to police reportsHe attacked a male flight attendant, and inappropriately touched two female flight attendants including their breasts. He began yelling at his parents about how they are worth more than $2 million dollars. (He'll be very sad when he gets back to Miami and realizes this doesn't impress anyone). Then he started shouting in the cabin about how much you guys are f*cking suckers and how his grandpa was worth more than your entire f*cking existence. He yelled at the flight attendants to stop screaming and calm down when they asked him.He refused to obey flight attendants who physically restrained him and taped him to his seat. Other passengers found it strangely satisfying with many filming and one behind him shouting "He is a savage!"The man was taken into custody upon his arrival in Miami. He was charged with three counts each of battery. You can view the video below, but be aware that there is some inappropriate language (as you might have guessed).Frontier passenger was alleged to have touched 2 flight attendants breasts and then shouted that his parents were worth $2 million before punching another flight attendant. Frontier suspended the crew after duct tape was used to secure the passenger's seat when they landed in Miami. Max Berry, 22 years old, is currently in custody. pic.twitter.com/4xS9Rwvafx Sam Sweeney (@SweeneyABC) August 3, 2021Frontier Airlines suspends flight attendants? This is what we did!Frontier Airlines issued the following statement in response to the incident:A passenger was on a flight from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Miami on July 31. He made inappropriate contact with a flight attendant. Then, he assaulted another flight attendant. The passenger was then restrained until they landed in Miami, where law enforcement arrived. As required by law, the flight attendants were not allowed to fly until an investigation is completed. It is strange that the airline suspended flight attendants after this flight. Although I understand that an investigation must be conducted, I don't recall any airline ever releasing a statement saying that crews would be allowed to fly until the investigation is completed.Today's flight attendants are subject to far too much, and it is clear that this man was not in the spirit of his job. It seems unfair to do anything but support the flight attendants, and recognize what they are going through far too often.Bottom lineOhio's 22-year old boy was duct-taped after he behaved inappropriately on Frontier Airlines' flight from Ohio to Miami. After having a few drinks, he began to assault flight attendants and was eventually restrained. It is incredible how versatile duct tape is. From fixing engines to managing unruly passengers, it is truly amazing. It's a much bigger picture than this single event. It is really sad to see how commonplace this behavior has become. There are many factors that contribute to this combination: a mental toll of the pandemic and being trapped inside, a polarizing divide among people, frustration with airlines over mask mandates, and so on.Unfortunately, the FAA's zero tolerance policy does not seem to be as effective in deterring this type of behavior.
