The Trump campaign must have thought they had booked something similar to the Four Seasons hotel, only to find an alternative upon arrival. So the theory went.Despite serious investigative efforts to find out the truth, the question of whether Trump mishandled the booking has not been fully addressed. This weekend, however, a new piece was revealed that Team Trump may have been drawn to the company's name. One month before Giuliani made Four Seasons Total Landscaping an odd footnote in U.S. politics, Trump's campaign spent a significant amount to another landscaping company with a nearly identical name.Four Seasons Landscape and Property Services was hired by the Republican National Committee to stage an event and manage property for a West Coast fundraising trip for Donald Trump. The Santa Clarita-based company billed the committee $48,515.78. Trump Victory, a joint fundraising venture between the RNC (and the Trump campaign), paid the total on Dec. 15. It was first reported by Trump Victory in a campaign finance report on Saturday. This immediately led to speculations that it was the Giuliani presser bill. They were actually two separate Trump Campaign events that involved a landscaping company called Four Seasons.Dan Blumel, owner of Four Seasons Landscape and Property Services, stated that the event for his company was in October. Blumel did not give specific details, citing a confidentiality agreement with the client. He did however reveal one major problem that obstructed the planning.Blumel stated that Mr. Trump got Covid.Trump's serious illness required him to be transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This led to two West Coast fundraising events: a $25,000-a plate event in Beverly Hills and one at a private Newport Beach home for $2,800. Blumel stated that the event that he helped to organize took place, but that Ivanka Trump's daughter and Jared Kushner attended the event instead.Blumel believed that that was it. Trump was able to recover from Covid. It was a close election. Joe Biden won.But it wasn't that simple. Giuliani, a few days after the vote, held his famous presser at Four Seasons Total Landscaping. This transformed an obscure company into the symbol of the shambolic conspiracy huntings that would follow. Blumel's phone was flooded with messages from acquaintances and friends asking the obvious question: "Is this in any way related to you?"He said that we have the same name as each other. We are not affiliated, however.
