His agent Jeff Schwartz reported Monday night that Kelly Olynyk, a free agent, has signed a $37 million, three-year deal with the Detroit Pistons.Olynyk, who had four solid seasons with Miami Heat, was traded to the Rockets in the last season. This deal also sent Victor Oladipo back to Miami.Olynyk (30) was a star for a Houston team in rebuilding. He averaged 19 points, 8.4 rebound and 4.1 assists over his 27-game tenure with the Rockets.Olynyk, despite not having achieved those heights in his career before, has a solid track record of being capable of contributing to winning teams during previous stops at Miami and Boston.Olynyk was a career 3-point shooter at 36.7% and shot nearly 40% while with the Rockets.This report was contributed by Nick Friedell, an ESPN staff writer.
