Facebook to require all U.S. on-campus employees to wear masks

Facebook announced Monday that it will require all employees to wear masks on campuses in the U.S.A spokeswoman for the company stated that "The safety and health of our employees as well as our neighbors in the community remain our top priority." We are reintroducing the mask requirement in all Facebook offices in the United States, regardless of employee's current vaccination status, due to the increasing number of COVID cases and the latest data on COVID variants.The new policy will be in effect from Wednesday to the end of time. This decision is in response to similar orders from several local governments in San Francisco Bay Area requiring that all indoors persons wear masks in public places.Facebook's new on-campus mask policy follows an announcement by the company last week that all U.S. workers will need to be vaccinated upon their return to its offices.The tech industry is not alone in reintroducing safety measures to protect health. Covid-19 cases are increasing as a result.Google announced last week that campus employees will be required to get vaccinated. It also delayed its return to office plans for October. According to a report last month, Apple has also delayed its return to work plans until October.
