The August Steve Jobs and Apple auction will be held by RR Auction, Boston. It will include a number of classic Macs and other Apple memorabilia such as a rare Apple-1 computer, a signed Apple II manual signed Steve Jobs, a leather jacket worn by Jobs, and many more.Roger Wagner has donated the Apple-1, which was originally sold at the Vintage Computer Festival 2002 in April 2002. Steve Wozniak is friends with Wagner, who wrote the first book on assembly language programming for the Apple II.PlayApple-1 expert Corey Cohen restored the Apple-1 to its original working condition and gave it a 7/10 condition rating. It includes the original Apple-1 board, Cassette Interface and cassettes, a Panasonic Portable Cassette Tape Player and Recorder, an Apple II keyboard and 11 original Apple-1 Operating Manual Pages signed by Ronald Wayne.Apple-1 computers were the first computer produced by Apple. They were sold by Steve Jobs from his garage in 1976. These machines are now worth $666.66. Although there were 175 Apple-1 computers originally manufactured, less than half are still in use.The Apple-1 is available for bidding starting at $50,000. RR Auction estimates that the Apple-1 could sell for up to $450,000. A functional Apple-1 computer was sold last March for $458,000. However, it was in slightly better conditions. Apple-1 computers have been sold up to $815,000.Along with the Apple-1 and Steve Jobs' jacket, RR Auction will be selling Steve Jobs' bomber coat. This jacket was worn in the 1983 photo "middle fingers to IBM", and an Apple II manual signed by Mark Markkula and Steve Jobs. The manual's note addressed to Julian Brewer reads: "Julian. Your generation is first to learn about computers. Change the world. Steven Jobs, 1980." Julian Brewer is Michael Brewer's son. He negotiated distribution rights in the UK for Apple in 1979.RR Auctions anticipates that the jacket as well as the manual will fetch upwards of $25,000Other bits of Apple memorabilia are also being offered for auction, including a Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak signed issue of Macworld, an Apple program signed by Jobs, Jobs' letter, a 128K Macintosh motherboard signed Jobs and Jef Raskin, and a Steve Jobs business card.
