(1:22).Coach Frank Reich announced that Carson Wentz, the Indianapolis Colts quarterback, will have surgery Monday to repair his injured left foot. He will be out of action for approximately five to twelve weeks.Reich claimed that it is an old injury from high school and that a broken bone was found in Wentz's foot.Marcus Brady, offensive coordinator, said that Wentz felt a "twist in his foot" as he rolled out to throw in practice on Thursday.Reich stated that Jacob Eason will continue receiving first-team reps in practice, with Wentz out.Reich stated to reporters, "The job is Jacob right now." Reich said, "He must prove it, he is sure of that. Jacob is in the driver's chair."The Colts acquired Wentz in the offseason. They reunited Reich with him by giving the Philadelphia Eagles a second-round selection in this year's draft as well as a conditional second round pick in 2022.After being sacked 50-times and throwing 15 interceptions in 12 games, Wentz was replaced by Jalen Hurts of the Eagles.Wentz has been injuried five times during his first five years of the NFL.
