Gov. Cuomo mandates vaccinations for transit workers as New York's Covid cases surge

This gave transportation workers the choice of getting vaccinated before Labor Day or going through weekly coronavirus testing.This mandate is identical to one Cuomo issued to state hospital workers last week to address the surge in delta variant. It requires vaccinations by Labor Day for all patients who are regularly treated without regular negative test results. According to a recent report, Port Authority claims that the agency has nearly 7,000 employees, while the MTA employs approximately 67,000.Cuomo stated that he doesn't think a "mask policy" is enough. "I believe we will have to discuss a vaccination policy."
