Jade Carey of United States wins women's gymnastics gold in floor exercise

American gymnast Jade Carey won Monday's gold medal in floor exercise.Carey, 21 years old, of Arizona, recovered from a scary fall during Sunday's vault final to win the top spot on the floor with a score 14.366. The U.S. women’s gymnastics team won five medals in Tokyo, with Simone Biles missing four finals to concentrate on her mental health.Italy's Vanessa Ferrari, from Italy, won silver. She was fourth at the 2008 and 2016 Olympics. The dramatic performance of the 30-year-old at Ariake Gymnastics Centre drew cheers from all the federations.With a score 14.166, Angelina Melnikova from the Russian Olympic Committee team tied for bronze. Mai Murakami of Japan was also on the team. Both the difficulty score and execution score of their routines were identical for both gymnasts.
