Lollapalooza continues to be a big event in Chicago despite concerns about COVID. The annual music festival was cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic. However, it returned to Grant Park on July 29 with strict safety restrictions and acts such as Miley Cyrus and Miley Cyrus (alongside a white-haired Fred Durst). The festival announced via Twitter on Sunday that Young Thug would replace DaBaby just hours before he was due to perform.
The full announcement is available here:
Lollapalooza was founded upon diversity, inclusion, respect, love, and respect. DaBaby will not be performing tonight at Grant Park. Young Thug will now perform at 9:15pm on Bud Light Seltzer Stage. G Herbo will perform on the T-Mobile Stage at 4:00pm.
Let's go back a little. DaBaby made homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Miami on July 25th. Madonna and Elton John also criticized his inaccurate statements about HIV/AIDS.
Dua Lipa, who worked with DaBaby to remix Levitating, stated in her own IG Story, that she was shocked and horrified by DaBaby's comments.
