New York City restaurant ordered to stop building 2-story outdoor dining structure after locals complained

Two-story outdoor dining area near Manhattan's Izakaya NYC was shared by Dwellers via Twitter.Many restaurants in New York City have built outdoor covered seating areas for diners to comply with indoor dining restrictions in 2020. However, the structure outside of The Izakaya NYC was being constructed to include an additional level. L.E.S.Yudai Kanayama of The Izakaya NYC told the New York Post that his plans to build the double-decker shed were canceled by "people being talking s ---."".Kanayama decided then to convert the top of the structure into a "just a roof with skylights – no more seating," but this plan was also canceled, according to the New York Post.Insider was able to view a 311 Service Request Status and found that a complaint regarding The Izakaya NYC’s outdoor dining area had been filed on Thursday. According to the request, The Izakaya NYC was inspected by the Department of Transportation.
